50 paise 1972-1983 varieties

The 50 paise coins of 1972-83 have the same design as the contemporary 25 paise coins. As in the case of the 25 paise, the reverse had been simplified compared to the types of the 1960s.

I have observed five varieties among this 50 paise type. Three different obverses are found: Ashoka sculpture version a, version g and version b. The reverse has wide or narrow spacing between Nagari (Hindi) and Latin "PAISE". Where the spacing is wide, the individual letters of Latin "PAISE" stands further apart, and the Nagari script is enlarged, compared to the narrow spacing variety.
